Mission and Goals 

Mission

The mission of the GateWay Community College Radiation Therapy Program is to provide a comprehensive curriculum that prepares individuals to become competent, entry level radiation therapists who will meet the need for highly qualified practitioners in the profession.

Goals

1. Students will build on a strong Radiography foundation to develop the necessary knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving skills appropriate to be successful in the Radiation Therapy setting.
2. Students will develop the attitudes, behaviors, and communication skills necessary to achieve success as a practitioner in Radiation Therapy.
3. The students will demonstrate a high level of clinical competency in all stages of the clinical radiotherapeutic process.
4. The program's comprehensive education will provide an environment that will promote professional growth and life-long learning.
