Career Description
Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (END) is the scientific field devoted to the recording and study of the electrical activity of the brain and nervous system. The most well known procedure is the Electroencephalogram. As an Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technician you will be working one-on-one with patients in a health care setting and will be responsible for performing tests and using computers, which record the on-going electrical activity of the brain and assist in the diagnosis of a variety of neurological problems.
Employment Outlook
This program prepares students to become employed as EEG Technicians and employment is found in hospitals and physician’s offices.
After gaining work experience students may take an exam to become a registered electroencephalogram technician and may also pursue training and registration in related END fields.
Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technicians earn an average of $16.00 to $30.00 an hour for an average salary of $33,280 to $62,400 a year.
