Review Requirements 

A new Associate of Applied Science Degree in Clinical Research is starting in the Fall of 2006. This degree track is designed for students who DO NOT have any health care certification, licensure, degree or applicable experience. The AAS Clinical Research Degree will prepare students to enter the field of Clinical Research as Professional support personnel; i.e. Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Assistant, Regulatory Affairs, IRB Coordinator, Clinical Research Monitor etc. This Degree track requires 65 - 70 credit hours. Contact Program Director for further information. The Clinical Research Coordinator Certificate of Completion Program is designed for professionals who hold a license, registration, or certification in the healthcare field, or for those who have comparable backgrounds and have worked in the healthcare field for at least two years. In some cases, individuals with other relevant backgrounds may participate, upon approval of the Program Director. The Clinical Research Coordinating Certificate of Completion Program is a 16-credit evening program, achievable within a 12-month period if two classes are taken each semester. Hybrid classes meet once a week for a full semester with additional course content provided online. The classes are scheduled so that students can take two courses per semester. Internet courses are also available, as are several elective courses. Please see review the course descriptions for more information on CRC courses. The CRC Program is taught in accordance with standards of the ACRP (Association for Clinical Research Professionals) and SoCRA (Society of Clinical Research Associate) to prepare individuals to become eligible to take the nationally and internationally recognized CRC certification exams. All NEW students to GateWay Community College must complete a Student Information Form. The following are four ways to do this:

• Use the on-line Student Information Form.
• Call one of our registration operators at 602.286.8100, and they will take your information on the telephone.
• Call 602.286.8100 to receive the form, complete it, and submit it in person at the GateWay Admissions, Registration and Records Office (Room 504K).
• Call 602.286.8100 to receive the form, complete it, and FAX it to the GateWay Admissions, Registration and Records Office at 602.392.5209.
• Apply online through the AzMENTOR  program.

Apply to Program

Students must apply and be accepted to the Clinical Research Coordinating Program in order to participate in either the degree or certificate track. In addition a general admission form for Gateway Community College is required. Take the Placement Test if Needed 

You will need to take this test if you do not have an associate, bachelor, or other advanced degree. The test is a collection of three placement exams designed to identify skill levels in English, reading, and mathematics. Scores are used to decide which courses to take. Students placed in the proper level courses have a much better chance of success. Testing is free and provided by the Student Assessment Center.

Apply for Financial Aid if Needed 

Students in the CRC program are eligible to apply for financial aid. Apply for financial aid, using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). At GateWay, only one initial application for grants, work study, and student loans is required.  It's that easy and you may apply for financial aid at any time!

Arizona Residents accepted into the CRC program may be eligible for partial scholarships provided by CRC program sponsors.For more information contact the program director.

Register for Class 

Students must be accepted into the program before registering for any CRC core certificate or degree courses.

Gateway’s convenient, easy-to-use My Schedule Web site will help you sort through and select the classes, days, times, and credits that work for you.  Build your class schedule each semester before registering for class. E-mail and/or print your schedule to assist you during registration. 

Once you have finalized your class schedule, register for class using one of six different registration options GateWay offers to meet your needs.

Monitor your Progress 

Take the classes necessary to obtain a Certificate of Completion in Clinical Research Coordinating. A check sheet is available from Advisement to help you monitor your progress.

Graduate 

Help GateWay maintain a high standard of educational excellence and service by completing the program completion exit interview and celebrate your achievements by participating in commencement activities at GateWay! The CRC program also has its own graduation ceremony to celebrate your achievement.

Start your Career 

The Career Planning Center offers career counseling, help with resume writing, and interviewing and career search strategies, and on-campus recruiting, as well as career and job fairs throughout the year. You are also free to use the Center’s computers, printers, and fax machines.
