A new Associate of Applied Science Degree in Clinical Research is starting in the Fall of 2006. This degree track is designed for students who DO NOT have any health care certification, licensure, degree or applicable experience. The AAS Clinical Research Degree will prepare students to enter the field of Clinical Research as Professional support personnel; i.e. Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Assistant, Regulatory Affairs, IRB Coordinator, Clinical Research Monitor etc. This Degree track requires 65 - 70 credit hours. The Clinical Research Coordinator Certificate of Completion Program is designed for professionals who hold a license, registration, or certification in the healthcare field, or for those who have comparable backgrounds and have worked in the healthcare field for at least two years. In some cases, individuals with other relevant backgrounds may participate, upon approval of the Program Director.
The Clinical Research Coordinating Certificate of Completion Program is a 16-credit evening program, achievable within a 12-month period if two classes are taken each semester. Hybrid classes meet once a week for a full semester with additional course content provided online.
The classes are scheduled so that students can take two courses per semester. Internet courses are also available, as are several elective courses. Please see review the course descriptions for more information on CRC courses.
The CRC Program is taught in accordance with standards of the ACRP (Association for Clinical Research Professionals) and SoCRA (Society of Clinical Research Associate) to prepare individuals to become eligible to take the nationally and internationally recognized CRC certification exams.
